Wilderness Workshops

Wildlife Painting

Capture our creatures on canvas.

July 7, August 11 and September 15, 2020

Whether it’s the feathery eyelashes of a wooly bison or a horse’s sun-flecked mane, Mother Nature’s creatures truly are awe-inspiring. But how do you go from breathtaking to brushstrokes? Award-winning wildlife artist James Corwin knows, and he’ll take you on an inspiring and creative journey in this all-new Wilderness Workshop. With his instruction, you’ll learn how balancing gestural technique with detailed precision leads to remarkably lifelike results. And the best part is, you’ll also leave with a spectacular souvenir—plus a renewed respect for all creatures great and small.

James Corwin: Artist in Residency

Born in Hawaii, Montana resident James Corwin is an award-winning contemporary artist who creates breathtaking wildlife oil paintings. This young artist’s attention to detail, coupled with his deep appreciation for his awe-inspiring subjects, results in stirring, lifelike canvases. While he travels frequently for creative inspiration, his visits to Africa in particular have shed a light on the power of wildlife conservation, something he has worked to support through his artwork.

All Wilderness Workshops are complimentary and are included in your stay.
