Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Itinerary

During the day: Breathe in that fresh Montana air.

Arriving at Missoula International Airport, you’re greeted by our staff. You and your attendees are provided with personalized ground transportation—a scenic 35-minute drive—to The Resort. Each attendee is checked in inside their luxury accommodations, and lunch is served in Trough, our on-property casual dining restaurant.

Afterwards, you can either head out to the Sky Line™ Aerial Adventure Park or relax by the fire and use complimentary Wi-Fi to catch up on work.

Itinerary

In the evening: Gather ’round!

For dinner, you’re in for a crowd-pleasing down-home experience in the heart of our Ranch Village. Pose for that quintessential Montana photo on The Yard at the Cook Shack against the backdrop of the Garnet Mountains. You play pickup games of horseshoes, watch closely as world-class chefs cook up mouthwatering cuisine outdoors and then sit down to dine in picturesque gazebos. Live entertainment is provided on stage by a local singer-songwriter.

Day 2

Itinerary

During the day: Go from wild to mild and back again.

A bountiful breakfast buffet is waiting for everyone at Trough, followed by Horsepower: Where Mustangs and Mindfulness Coexist. You watch as Equestrian Manager Jackie Kecskes “gentles” one of our wild mustangs, providing insights on leadership and communication.

After lunch, the entire team heads out to the Paws Up Shooting Club where attendees take part in a target extravaganza using sporting clays, archery, a .22-caliber rifle range and hatchet throwing.

Itinerary

In the evening: Experience what life was like long ago.

Welcome to the Wild West—an honest-to-goodness chuck wagon dinner on the shores of the famous Blackfoot River. Our chuck wagon chef puts out a spread that would have made cowboys say “Yee-haw!” 150 years ago. You and your cohorts dine on tangy and juicy tomahawk steaks, Dutch-oven baked beans and fresh local fruit cobbler—or maybe you’ll opt for a whole roasted pig. To mellow things out, enjoy music with a banjo player and, you guessed it, a cowboy poet.

Day 3

Itinerary

During the day: Let them all go their own way.

Mornings in Montana can be an especially serene time of day, so spend yours practicing yoga or taking a guided hike to learn more about the property’s flora and fauna. Breakfast can either be prepared for you at Trough or packed up as a picnic to enjoy along the trail.

In the afternoon, sit down to a nice hearty lunch before saddling up for an authentic cattle drive—unless you’d rather go canoeing or decide to bliss out at Spa Town®, where tented treatment rooms open up to nature.

Itinerary

In the evening: Corral your group for an unforgettable event.

Montana’s premier equestrian center—the Saddle Club at Paws Up—becomes the setting for an unforgettable dinner-and-show experience. Kick things off in the riding arena with custom rodeo events chosen just for your group. Cocktails are served! And as the arena activities wind down, a feast awaits, featuring ranch delicacies flavored with locally foraged herbs. You can either sit down to enjoy it in the Tack Room or load up on small bites while mingling inside the Sky Box.

Day 4

Itinerary

During the day: Be sure to have some tales to tell.

Begin the day with breakfast at your leisure, drizzling warm huckleberry sauce on your pancakes. Then divide up for an epic day of either horseback riding or fly-fishing. Your morning is spent learning the ropes: taking lessons on lassoing or getting to know the ins and outs of the rod and reel.

Your afternoon is spent on a trail that winds up through the pines, or on a stretch of the Blackfoot River, possibly the one made famous by the movie A River Runs Through It.

Itinerary

In the evening: Make some history of your own.

Cap off your week together in our elegantly restored Bull Barn. It begins with a reception offering signature cocktails crafted from locally made spirits. Then your group ascends the spiral staircase to the Great Angus Hall. Roast elk? Fresh rainbow trout? Black Angus steaks? Whatever you’ve chosen, it’s meticulously prepared and paired with the perfect wines. The evening ends with Montana line dancing, followed by fireworks and s’mores around a fire out on the nearby yard.

Day 5

Itinerary

During the day: Soak it all in one last time.

Take a few extra moments on your private deck to watch the fog lift, revealing little ground squirrels scurrying about. It’s a travel day, so be sure to hit the fresh juice bar at breakfast. Complimentary ground transfers begin early to Missoula International Airport.

Those departing later can relax in our Bunkhouse hospitality suite, check email by the fire at Tank or get in some shopping at the Wilderness Outpost. There are treasures there you won’t find anywhere else.
