Reindeer Lore and Antler Art

In this workshop, Elsa Janney supplies antler pieces and other natural artifacts, along with the tools and guidance for guests to craft various pieces of jewelry or other artful options. Throughout, Janney will share her experience of working closely with reindeer in Alaska and educate and inspire guests about these majestic creatures.

Elsa Janney: Artist in Residency

A Montana native, Elsa Janney grew up along the Continental Divide in Butte, Montana. From an early age, she had an affinity for animals and nature. Their beauty and inspiration worked its way into all aspects of her life. After a few years in Alaska running sled dogs and training reindeer, Janney returned home with a new set of skills making antler art and holistically training and healing animals. Now, Janney specializes in antler art that pays homage to the uniqueness and beauty of antlers and the deer that shed them, incorporates healing modalities into the functionality of the art and sources her materials herself, or from trusted North American–owned companies and people.
