A New Year’s Celebration

The quietest place to go out with a bang

December 31, 2019
(Three-night minimum stay)

When it comes to celebrations, we’ve saved the best for last. Join us as we count down to 2020 in spectacular fashion—with fire dancing, fireworks, live music and plenty of bubbly. And while we end the year with a bang, we start off the new year with a whisper: you’ll wake up in your luxury home to softly falling snow in the secluded wilderness. With miles and miles of snowy trails, you can set off on an expedition via horseback, snowmobile or even dogsled. Or you could choose to relax and recharge with a visit to the spa or a dip in your outdoor hot tub. You’ll linger over gourmet meals paired with vintage wine, and you’ll share your resolutions around a crackling fire. It’s that perfect time of year that mixes celebration with quiet reflection, and the ideal way to close out the busy holiday season and embrace the new year ahead.

All that New Year’s excitement can lead to quite an appetite, so we’ve planned accordingly. Join Segal for a gourmet New Year’s Day brunch like only she can do.

A standout on the Chicago restaurant scene, the chef and owner of Mindy’s HotChocolate is a winner of the James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Her classic desserts often come with a distinctive, irresistible twist. Chef Mindy Segal’s book, Cookie Love, is a must-have go-to reference for baking cookies that turn out perfectly each time. Whether she’s speaking on TV or working in the kitchen, she always draws a crowd. Segal was inducted into the Chicago Culinary Museum and Chefs Hall of Fame on February 17, 2018.

Josh Farmer

Pianist, Singer

Missoula, MT

A native of New York City, pianist and vocalist Josh Farmer now calls Missoula his home, with  more than a decade of touring Montana under his belt (often with the Josh Farmer Band). Farmer is an adept solo performer, playing a mesmerizing mix of jazz, funk, rock and soul. His versatility was on display when Farmer acted as music director for the University of Montana production of Green Day’s musical, American Idiot. While he has a rock background, Farmer now writes “more contemplative, more dynamic” jazz-pop-soul songs influenced by Herbie Hancock, Norah Jones, John Mayer and others. Whether he’s getting jazzy, or a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, one thing’s for sure: Josh Farmer will deliver a night to remember at Paws Up.
