February in Montana can be both a quiet time for reflection and riotous escape filled with wintry thrills. Either way, it inspires artists, poets and musicians alike to summon their best talents. So, if you’ve got a song to put down, come this February for our inaugural Winter Songwriter Weekend.

For three jam-packed days, you’ll work your craft with help from real-deal Nashville artists Lynn Hutton, Austin Jenckes and Tammi Kidd. They’ll take you on a journey of musical discovery beside raging hot fires and in front of picture windows revealing a perfectly white blank sheet of paper.

Lynn Hutton

Nashville, TN

Originally from Knoxville, Lynn Hutton is a songwriting machine. He’s written songs for performers ranging from Darius Rucker and Trace Adkins to Don Williams. His fun-filled lyrics have translated to big hits, including “Here’s to Good Times,” the title track on Florida Georgia Line’s album, and “Cold One” for Eric Church. His “Jack Daniels,” co-written with Eric Church, is a perennial crowd favorite. He and his wife, Tammi Kidd, live in Nashville.


Austin Jenckes

Nashville, TN

Austin Jenckes gained fame as a Top 10 finalist on Season 5 of TV’s The Voice. With roots in rural Washington, he’s been described as “a folk-rock power singer,” with guitar-based melodies and honest lyrics that touch the heart. His music is an artful blend of Americana, Southern rock and alternative country. His 2018 single “Ride Away” has been streamed over a million times on Spotify, and Rolling Stone Country named him one of “10 Artists You Need to Know” in January 2018.Jenckes lives with his wife and their young daughter outside of Nashville.


Tammi Kidd

Nashville, TN

Tammi Kidd is a hit maker, having written songs for Grammy winner Pam Tillis and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Don Williams, among many others. She’s written a number of hit singles, including co-writing “Little Bit Gypsy” for Kellie Pickler. Kidd also wrote songs for the movie Country Strong, starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Broadcast Music, Inc., recently presented Kidd with a Million-Air Award—celebrating one million on-air performances of “Probably Wouldn’t Be This Way,” recorded by LeAnn Rimes. Kidd and her husband, Lynn Hutton, live in Nashville, Tennessee.
