Montana Master Grillers
Chef Steve “Nookie” Postal
Commonwealth (Cambridge, MA)
Finalist in Bravo’s Around the World in 80 Plates
Named Best Al Fresco Restaurant by Boston Magazine as well as Best Neighborhood Takeout Restaurant, Commonwealth is owned by Chef Steve “Nookie” Postal, a veteran chef of Cambridge’s Oleana and Casablanca restaurants. Commonwealth sits proudly in Boston’s vibrant Kendall Square. Here, fresh ingredients shine and take center stage via simple executions.
But it just may be the six years he spent as executive chef at one of the BBQ-loving, grilled-food eating capitals of the world—Boston’s Fenway Park—that best exemplify Postal’s grill-loving side. Baseball fans fondly remember his tenure at Fenway—it included a Red Sox World Series win in 2007. In 2012, Postal was a finalist in Around the World in 80 Plates on Bravo, circling the globe competing in culinary challenges in exotic places such as Buenos Aires, Florence and Marrakesh. Postal has also cooked at the James Beard House in New York City on four occasions.
