Cowgirl Spring Roundup

Marilyn Williams Harris

Ranch owner, champion rider

April 26–29, 2018

If you were looking up “cowgirl” in the dictionary, you just might find a picture of Marilyn Williams Harris. She represents the very best of today’s working cowgirls. Owning and co-managing her grandfather’s historic Arizona ranch with her sister, Harris is no stranger to hard work on their cow-calf operation.

Harris’s lifelong passion for riding horses led to numerous competitive championships, including American Quarter Horse Association World Championships in the Reining and Working Cow Horse categories, as well as a coveted National Reined Cow Horse Association world championship.

Whether it’s giving pointers on herding cattle, sharing her expertise on native grasses, or giving tips on riding, you’d be hard pressed to find a better teacher than Marilyn Williams Harris. Her goal is to leave Arizona, and by extension the American West, in better condition for future generations—a laudable goal for us all.
