Fishing isn’t just for warm, sunny days. It’s also a perfect winter activity, especially when enjoying the time-honored Montana winter tradition of ice fishing. We invite guests to pull on an extra layer, then sit back and enjoy a scenic, 20-minute ride to Salmon Lake. Walk out on the crystal-clear ice to an insulated shack stocked with rods and tackle. Don’t worry—there are plenty of comforts, too, with propane space heaters and warm drinks on hand to keep everyone toasty warm. Beginning in December and running through late winter (depending on conditions), this winter-weather activity is ideal for all ages and activity levels. Fish are notoriously elusive, but with knowledgeable guides, radar, and an underwater camera, guests are bound to be swapping fish stories later.
