So what exactly is geocaching? Born from satellite wizardry, geocaching is a high-tech version of an Easter egg hunt. Using a handheld GPS unit, you’ll punch in coordinates that will point you in the direction of a hidden “cache.” The cache is a hidden waterproof container with a logbook and a “hidden treasure” (coupons that can be redeemed for fun, kid-appropriate prizes) inside. Once you find a cache, you’ll sign the logbook and help yourself to the treasure. You’ll also leave something behind for future geocachers. These coveted caches are hidden along the various hiking trails on the ranch, providing you with an opportunity to explore the vast, unspoiled wilderness of Paws Up. Lewis and Clark will be proud.
