Backcountry Tours

Explore Montana’s Untamed Wilderness

Head out into the wild on a Paws Up Backcountry Tour. Ride along in a Polaris General vehicle with our guide or hop in the driver’s seat with up to three passengers. On the Backcountry Tour, you’ll drive through the Garnet Mountain Range to Garnet Ghost Town. There, you’ll travel back in time as you explore the buildings, scenery, and fixtures of an era long faded into history.

The Garnet Ghost Town Tour

On the Garnet Ghost Town Tour, you’ll travel deep into Montana’s history with a scenic ride to one of the state’s best-preserved ghost towns. Once a bustling mining community in the late 1800s, Garnet now stands frozen in time with over 30 historic structures to explore. Wander through old saloons, cabins and storefronts as you imagine life during the gold rush era.

The Extended Backcountry Tour

On the Extended Backcountry Tour, you’ll head to the Garnet Mountain Range. At more than 7,000 feet, you’ll enjoy a 360-degree view of the valley. Then you and your fellow passengers will traverse the mountain all the way back to Paws Up. It’s a relaxing journey for anyone who craves a mountain adventure in the great outdoors.
