There’s nothing more American than apple pie on the Fourth of July. This year, Kate McDermott of Art of the Pie will be hosting an Art of the Apple Pie workshop where you’ll hand-make an iconic apple pie in a Le Creuset mini pie pan. You’ll learn the treasured skill of how to make great crust and apple filling, hear “pie lore” and experience much, much more. This is a truly unique opportunity to learn from “the Pie Whisperer” about how to prepare an American classic as we celebrate our great nation’s independence.

Kate’s love for baking started when she was a little girl. In the afternoons after school, her favorite extracurricular activity was making cookies, cakes and bread. Today, after decades of practice and thousands of pies, Kate is known throughout the United States as “the Pie Whisperer.” Kate conducts multiday pie camps and Art of the Pie workshops all around the world. She loves sharing the craft of crust in classes anywhere there are pie bakers, pie eaters and pie seekers. Folks say her crust is absolutely delicious and are surprised to learn how easy it is to make. Add to that a delicious seasonal fruit filling and it couldn’t be better. And, as Kate says, “If it comes from your heart, the pie will be full of love!”
