Fitness and Yoga
The Fitness Tent at Spa Town offers a unique and tranquil environment for your work-out. The following equipment is available for your use while a guest at Paws Up: treadmill, BowFlex machine, stationary bike, free weights, weight bench, yoga mats, yoga balls, medicine balls, stair master and complimentary water and towels.
Come join Laura Russell, Spa and Wellness Manager at Spa Town, to breathe stretch and relax with Yoga and/or Yogalates. The Yoga class on Tuesdays at 8:30am consists of a combination of Vinyasa style Yoga class that links posture and breath together within a series of sequential movements. This process generates heat in the body and helps to build muscular strength and better flexiblity. Yoga experience is helpful but not a must.
The Yogalates class on Thursdays at 8:30am is a combination of yoga and pilates. Yogalates is a strenuous technique that involves the stretching and strengthening of all the body's major muscle groups, creating a slender, streamlined shape rather than bulk. It enhances posture with its main focus being to strengthen the core postural muscles where the abdominal, lower back, pelvic floor and buttock muscles meet. It also fuses the breathing systems of yoga (the ujjayi breath used to calm the mind) and pilates (the pilates lateral thoracic breath where the abdominal muscle is used and activated continually throughout the practice). Yogalates is excellent for bad backs and for creating a sense of inner calm and relaxation.
