MONTANA’S LUXURY RANCH RESORT INTRODUCES 2013 SERIES OF CULINARY EVENTS INCLUDING BRAND NEW UPPER CRUST: THE ART OF THE PIE
Greenough, Montana – March 27, 2013 – Since opening their doors in 2005 as Montana’s premier luxury ranch resort, The Resort at Paws Up has been building a reputation as a top culinary destination. This year, the resort has raised the bar by expanding their series of culinary events to five dedicated weekend events, including Upper Crust™ - a sophisticated pie camp and workshop featuring “pie whisperer” Kate McDermott, as well as Chef Robin Leventhal from Bravo’s hit reality show Top Chef.
Montana Master Grillers – May 24 – 27, 2013 (Memorial Day Weekend)
The kick-off to summer and these culinary events is Montana Master Grillers: an all-inclusive weekend event that aims to celebrate what Paws Up does best: gourmet outdoor dining. In its second year, this culinary event is a seamless blend of fine wines, spirits, beers and exquisite grilled cuisine taking place in stunning outdoor-dining settings. As part of the special event, guests will partake in a myriad of wilderness adventures like horseback riding or fly-fishing with one-on-one interaction with some of the finest chefs, distillers and winemakers in America. Montana Master Grillers 2013 will feature flame-kissed lunches and dinners prepared by world-class chefs including Chef Frank Ostini of The Hitching Post II (of Sideways fame), Chef Adam Sappington of The Country Cat in Portland, OR and Paws Up’s Executive Chef Adam Cooke. Pepper Bridge Winery from Walla Walla Valley and Montana’s Headframe Spirits will be pairing their offerings with the featured chefs’ fare.
The Montana Master Grillers all-inclusive weekend from May 24-27, 2013, is $5,555 per couple for four days, three nights. This package rate includes a private home or tent accommodation, three meals daily for 2 adults (including breakfast, all featured lunches, multi-course dinners and wine pairings), all scheduled events, three activities of choice per person, airport transportation to/from Missoula International Airport (MSO), and on-property transportation.
Montana Long Table series – June 22, 2013 & July 13, 2013
Montana Long Table 2013 series are special culinary experiences exclusively for summer guests of The Resort at Paws Up. After last year’s overwhelming success, the resort is announcing the addition of a second Montana Long Table event this summer: Saturday, June 22, 2013 and again on Saturday, July 13, 2013. A single table, outfitted to seat over 200 guests at one seating, will be set up in the gorgeous Paws Up grazing pasture just north of the iconic Cook Shack building that houses the main restaurants.
The purpose of the Montana Long Table series at Paws Up is to pay homage to the people of Montana who bring nourishment to the table and explore the indigenous tastes and flavors of the region. Guests will dine and socialize with the very ranchers, farmers and food artisans that will be contributing to this celebration of Montana's vast culinary resources. A true Farm (Rancher)-to-Table event that guests will not soon forget.
Montana Master Chefs – September 26-29, 2013
Now in its 7th year, Montana Master Chefs 2013 is an all-inclusive 4-day/3-night weekend event like none other. The event gives guests’ taste buds a chance to experience the gastronomic gamut from elegant dinner menus and wine pairings to the light-hearted Iron Chef/Top Chef-esque ‘quick fire’ demos. The featured chefs for this all-inclusive weekend are Bravo TV Top Chefs – including season 3 winner of Top Chef, Hosea Rosenberg, as well as season 3 and season 10 contestant Chris “CJ” Jacobsen. Guests get to see spectacular scenery on the plate as well as all around the 37,000-acre property as they go on foraging hikes with the chefs during the day, or embark on horseback or ATV excursion around the property. After a day full of good food, wine and wilderness, a luxury home or tent will await. Chefs pair meals with exquisite winemakers like Domaine Carneros Winery from Napa Valley.

NEW for 2013, Upper Crust: A Sophisticated Pie Camp –
October 11-14, 2013
Pie enthusiasts and amateur food photographers alike will be thrilled to learn about Paws Up’s newest event addition for 2013: Upper Crust. Guests will join the talented Kate McDermott (otherwise known as the “Pie Whisperer”) for a weekend of luxury, adventure, gourmet food and wine, and most importantly, expert insight into the art of pie making. The weekend will feature hands-on instruction from Kate McDermott in the kitchen. Bravo TV Top Chef Robin Leventhal will be on hand as a “Pie Camp Counselor” along with Paws Up’s Executive Chef Adam Cooke and Executive Sous Chef, Adjryche Channing. Upper Crust will also feature professional New York Times food photographer, Andrew Scrivani. Andrew will be a “roving instructor” during the workshops helping guests document the art of pie creation. When guests are not baking, they can hit the trails for a hike, float down the Blackfoot River and explore the gorgeous Montana fall on horseback.
The Upper Crust all-inclusive weekend will be held October 11-14, 2013. Pricing is from $5,361 (double occupancy) for four days, three nights.
