We’re pleased to announce that Cakebread Cellars from Napa Valley, California will be joining us at Montana Master Grillers 2015. With 40 harvests diligently completed and with the second generation of winemaking Cakebreads now running the operation, this little family winery has become one of the most successful and respected in the United States, renowned for its world-class vineyards, wines and hospitality. Cakebread feels truly blessed to share a commitment to quality and its history with wine lovers all over the world.
A very small party (hint: sign up now) will join Dennis Cakebread on an intimate fly-fishing trip on the legendary Missouri River. Enjoy epic scenery, swap stories, hook some fresh trout and eddy out around midday to enjoy an alfresco lunch paired with Cakebread Cellars wines. The lunch will be followed by more fishing for dessert.
Rodney Strong Vineyards
Wine Enthusiasts Magazine’s 2013 American Winery of the Year, Rodney Strong is a family-owned business in Sonoma, California. It is the 20th-largest wine company in the United States. The winery is known throughout the world for its unique estate-bottled and single-vineyard wines. Rodney Strong is also known as Northern California’s largest boutique winery because of its excellent grapes and the Artisan Cellar, a high-end production facility designed to process small quantities of special grapes picked from "sweet spots" in its vineyards. This winery doesn't take shortcuts. Its winemakers use the finest equipment and age the wines in traditional oak barrels to bottle on-site. In 2009, Rodney Strong became the first carbon-neutral winery in Sonoma County.
Paws Up is honored to welcome Rodney Strong and the winery's bold, full-bodied reds, which are sure to pair
perfectly with the gourmet grilled cuisine from this year’s Montana Master Grillers.
Shed Horn Cellars
The Resort at Paws Up is pleased to welcome boutique vintner Shed Horn Cellars to Montana Master Grillers 2015.
Shed Horn is a family-owned-and-operated small-lot producer of premium wines from Middletown, Lake County, California. Situated in the heart of California Wine Country, 90 miles north of San Francisco, Shed Horn takes advantage of wild, volcanic soils and high-elevation vineyards to create award-winning wines with intense fruit and oak tannins.
Shed Horn was founded by Michael Wood, a North Bay native who has been working in Wine Country vineyards since 1982. In 2004, Wood took his experience (and his passion for the outdoors) and set out to create his own label, inspired by the powerful elk.
Shed Horn produces five varietals and only enters a few prestigious competitions every year, but the winery consistently brings home gold. This year Paws Up is particularly looking forward to pairing Shed Horn's double-gold-winning Lake County Non Typical Red Wine blend (Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Barbera and Syrah) and Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon with the barbequed bounty cooked up by the Master Grillers.
