Montana Ranch Activities
Paws Up is situated on a sprawling, 37,000-acre working cattle ranch. Join us for a variety of authentic Montana ranch activities.
Cattle Drive
Novice and advanced riders alike will join with seasoned ranch hands in driving a herd of cattle for the experience of a lifetime. You’ll saddle up your horse and set out to gather the cattle and trail them to the working corrals, sort them, then trail them back to the home pasture. It’s an unforgettable adventure that will help you discover your inner wrangler.

Ranch Sorting
Experience the life of a true Montana ranch hand. You’ll pair up into teams of two and try to sort and herd cattle into their appropriate pens. All horse riding ability levels are welcome. Children as young as six can participate. It’s a fun, relaxed activity designed to promote teamwork and provide a truly authentic ranch experience.

Barrel Racing Event Dinners
Join us for an authentic western experience at the Saddle Club at Paws Up. You’ll dine on our signature barbecue cuisine with all of the fixings. Then, you’ll enjoy barrel racing competitions consisting of local Montanans. Pony rides, roping demos and other fun games are available for children throughout the evening.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Sit back, relax, and take in the joy of watching Montana’s famous Big Sky host the rolling hills, scenic backdrop and the local wildlife that call Paws Up Ranch home.

Junior Wrangler Adventure
Join a Kids Camp counselor and our wonderful staff at the Saddle Club for a day full of equestrian adventure. Specific "horseplay" may include the following activities: tying lead ropes, catching horses, brushing/cleaning horses, saddling and bridling trail horses, proper horse-mounting techniques, reigning and riding, draft horse harnessing and driving. You’ll get to "ride shotgun" on a wagon ride and then end the day as the "Junior Wrangler" on our afternoon group trail ride. You leave with a whole new appreciation of horses, and we’ll even throw in a photo of you, your horse and one of our wranglers to take home with you.
