There's almost nothing in life that rivals the feeling of a hefty trout striking your fly, and the ensuing fight, headshakes and all. With that in mind, we'd like to welcome you to a slice of Montana fly-fishing heaven. The Resort at Paws Up is an angler's retreat that's located within the golden triangle of western trout Montana fly fishing. It boasts a creel-full of legendary rivers on property or nearby—including the Blackfoot, Bitterroot, Missouri, and Clark Fork. So whether you're checking off a few more Montana rivers, or are ready to pioneer into some true trout wilderness, this is the place for you.

All guided fly-fishing trips are performed under Justin Capps, Montana Outfitter #12891, 40060 Paws Up Road, Greenough, MT 59823 406-369-8210.

*UPDATE AS OF JULY 2, 2015:
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has issued a mandatory restriction on fishing that affects the Blackfoot River as of this week. Due to unusually low snowpack and low rainfall this year, combined with unseasonably warm temperatures, all fishing on the Blackfoot River has been restricted until mid-September. No fishing is permitted on the Blackfoot River between 2pm and 12am. These restrictions are set to help preserve the native fish populations for future generations.

Fly-fishing trips will be offered as a full-day option only, due to shuttle time to fishing locations on rivers being farther away from the resort. The rate for this activity increases slightly to $550, and the trip will run anywhere from 6-8 hours depending on location. Our goal is simple: to take you to where the fishing is best! Please note that these restrictions apply only to fly-fishing on the Blackfoot River. Rafting and float trips on the Blackfoot will run as normal.
